This is a typical neighborhood of immigrants coming from the most varied places, among which Greeks, Yugoslavians, Turks and Italians, especially Geneva's, stand out. Caminito Street measures but 100 meters and is a pedestrian street, both small and peculiar. Along it, there are no doors, only some windows and a balcony full of plants and hanged clothes. Caminito's walls are painted in many different colors that remember Venetia. These same walls have all kinds of murals, ceramics and different ornaments. At first, it was simply a train branch, full of soil, reeds and rocks. This place was formerly called "The Cave" and later on transformed into a "Caminito" (Little Path) that shortened distances. This was the famous "Caminito" Juan de Dios Filiberto used to walk by and inspired in which he then wrote the tango song that has its name. The idea of giving this street the name of "Caminito" must be attributed to a dear friend of him: Benito Quinquela Martín. Today, Caminito is a Touristic Street, not only visited by foreign citizens but also by Argentineans from all around the country, proud of this incredibly picturesque place. The Boca Juniors Athletic Club, located in Brandsen 805, is one of the most important soccer clubs in the country and was founded by four neighborhood youngsters in 1905. The institution's name was taken directly from the neighborhood and the word "Juniors" was added because it added prestige to the name and contrasted with the "hard neighborhood" reputation it had acquired in those days. Its Stadium has a 50.000 person capacity and other sportive disciplines are practiced its social and sportive center.
