Within this vast neighbourhood, two very different architectonic and stylistic zones coexist: Palermo Chico, where lakes and large parks stand out; and Palermo Viejo, a traditional neighbourhood with wide streets and big old houses. Palermo Chico is an area of beautiful mansions and tiny streets. Palermo Viejo is a cultural and entertainment area, full of bars, pubs, restaurants offering different cooking styles, such as Mexican, Japanese, Creole and other foods. There is also a fashion and crafts avant-garde zone particularly developed by young people. Numerous means of transportation along Santa Fe Avenue take the tourist to every city centre spot and to Greater Buenos Aires. Trains and subways go to Belgrano and to the City Centre. One may also visit the Zoo and the Botanical Garden.
